Here are some snapshots from my brother's wedding. My brother Nate got married to Lindsay Thompson in Elkhart, IN on July 15. Granted, this was over a month ago, and many cool things have happened since, but I wanted to post this for you all to see my gorgeous wife, and my fine looking siblings.
Next Entry - My Brother Toby Gets Married (08/05/2006).
Thanks to you all for viewing and commenting

| 3 days into the season and landscaping is in full swing. So far I planted the garden again, a month after birds and bunnies ate every single leaf off of every plant. I'm hoping to have better luck this time. Mandy planted many flowers around the front of the house, as well as several in little hanging baskets outside our back door. We have added several ornamental grasses, that will grow up to 14 feet.
The back deck and hot tub have been stained, and are now the lovely shade of Russett Brown. The power recepticles have been installed in the basement, and the next step is lighting. After that, cable, phone, and then plumbing and drywall. Pictures are coming soon!

| June 14. Today. A week before the beginning of summer. I woke up today and realized that I had barely finished my spring cleaning and it was time for summer projects. This year the adjenda for the summer is ambitious at worst. If things go as planned, the basement will be finished, we will have a new back deck or patio, and the trim on the house will be a luxurious eggplant instead of the worn out light yellow that has weathered 15 years. If things go as planned. Last year we accomplished one goal, the obtaining and installation of a hot tub. I framed the basement, which isn't much of an accomplishment for an entire year. And we painted the interior of the house. Progress, yes, but completion? Far from it.
But this is a new summer with new busy weekends and new tasks to procrastinate. Where will the house be when the fall overtakes the freedom and warmth of summer? The basement will be done. It has to be. The painting might be done, if I can find a ladder tall enough. And the deck and patio? I think Meatloaf put it best; "Two out of three ain't bad."
What do you want to do this summer? What goals do you have? Where do you want to be when fall '06 rolls around?
| This entry is about smells. I will discribe several smells that I have smelled today, and what particular random moments in my past are brought to right now by each of them. Memory fascinates me, and the fact that I may never ever remember a particular moment until I walk through a random fragrance seems bizarre.
My first smell was the smell of plastic. Plastic has many smells, but this one in particular is a little sweet, a little smooth, a little plasticky. It is the smell of plastic pages in photo albums, the smell of my baseball card pages. The same smell belongs to pool equipment, floaties, and other inflatable pool toys when they are first opened.
The memories I get include swimming at my cousin's pool, sitting with my mom when I was 8 looking at pictures of myself when I was 2. I also remember having friends over to trade baseball cards. and Star Wars Customizable Card Game cards. Oh my, where are all my Star Wars CCG cards? I had some valuable ones, too...
What smells have you recently noticed that bring back good memories, old forgotten memories?
And I will write more once I locate my missing cards. Good day to you all
